Reading report of “The Hunger Games” Introduced by my English teacher, The Hunger Games became one of my favorite movies. Some plots of this movie touched my heart deeply, so I want to share
something about it with you. The story happened in a country named Panem, which forces each of its twelve districts to choose two young people to compete as tributes in the hunger games. The game’s rule is easy---kill or killed; only one can alive between the 24 people. The whole process of the game can be seen on the TV live. Unfortunately, Katniss’s little sister was chosen. In order to protect her sister, Katniss had to join in the game as volunteer with another boy named Peeta. Faced with all kids of difficulties, Katniss fighting bravely and finally she win the game. On one hand, The Hunger Games reflected the criticism of the society. At the start of the story, the sufferings of District 12 and the sense of fear for the games left me deep impression. People don’t have enough food to sustain life; the game is so cruel that everyone is afraid of being chosen. And people were forbidden from entering the forest to go hunting, because even the forest belongs to government rather than people. I remember that Katniss once said to Gale: “No matter how, doesn’t let them starve." That was the last word we heard from her before she left hometown. How poor they are! No money, no food, no enough strength to resist. With the development of the story, we can see the advanced technology, delicious food, comfortable bed and so on. Compared with District 12, the capitol is so rich that they don’t need to worry for food. What they like to do is to enjoy life, enjoy the cruel games, to build their own happiness on the suffering of others. The oppression of the government make so many people in pain. On the other hand, the movie not only reflects bloody, violence but also human nature. First of all, the movie showed us lots of characters of human by a few days fight, such as kindness, hesitate, selfishness, friendship, love and others. It is hard to bear that the sponsor not only supports the games for fun, but also bet on the death and make more money from death in the movie. I also associated our society by seeing this movie, just like those tributes, if you want to get more support from the sponsor to survival, you must try to gain their favor, isn’t it the same for our super star in our modern society. The more fans they get, the more chance they have, the more money they can make. In this movie the Katniss had to hurt others bravely for life, for her sister and her district. She refused to give in to the rule of game, struggled all the time, finally he made it. For katniss, she has changed a lot, from a cautious girl to an intrepid super hero. I really learn a lot of things from this movie; In order to get more knowledge about the plot of this movie, I would like to read the book carefully.
