Scientific definition
Cloning is the creation of cells or whole animals by using DNA(脱氧核糖核酸) from a single "parent", bypassing (绕道而行) the normal reproductive (生殖) process. The clone has the same DNA to the “parent”.

The name of the cloned monkey is ANDi. It is from “inserted DNA” spelt backwards. It is the first genetically modified monkey. The technology is different from that used for Dolly.
