Emily Dickinson的诗歌理解

What are some of the most noticeable stylistic features in Dickinson’s poems? Emily Dickinson was an American poet born and lived almost all her life in Amherst, who gained her reputation after her death. She was so special that you even cannot forget her since you had read her poem for the first time. She started to write poems in her twenties, 1775 poems were left with a mini number of 7 poems were published when she alive. This admirable woman was miserable, who lasted her life all by herself, which was represented in her poems. might this be the origin of her suffering? As we all know, Dickinson’s poems were all short and of words separated and joined by dashes. This kind of style was flexible and fresh, which might be the reason for her being a poem as great as Whitman. Let us enjoy the following poem: LIV I live with him, I see his face; I go no more away For visitor, or sundown; Death’s single privacy, The only one forestalling mine, And that by right that he Presents a claim invisible, No wedlock granted me. I live with him, I hear his voice, I stand alive to-day To witness to the certainty Of immortality Taught me by time,- the lower way, Conviction everyday,That life like this is endless, Be judgment what it may. And a part of LV I envy seas whereon he rides, I envy spokes of wheels Of chariots that him convey, I envy speechless hills First we could infer that she had no wedlock; she was single all of her life. Of course, a kind of saying claimed that Dickinson had fell in love with a married man; love was destined to her suffering and loneliness. Then the style of this poem is short simple and the most noticeabledashes. She yearned towards nature, sundown was an imagery that being used in common. Her purity also reflected in the second part, this pure woman even envied seas and hills! Her

extraordinary insight and different mood must be the power that made her devoted her whole life to writing. Personally, I think Dickinson was childish and innocent, but childish means brave for children, means you can do whatever you like, this was the most important reason of human to be existing. Dickinson- a poor woman, who kept fighting for reality, but that all turned in vain.
